Hometown: Placentia, CA (Orange County)
Favorite Sactown hangout? Temple Coffee on S and 29th Streets! I’ll grab a muffin or donut at Pushkin’s, then head over to Temple to grab coffee and read a book, source music for my classes, write, or people watch.
Favorite Quote: “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined.” – Henry David Thoreau
What is one goal that you’re currently working on? Creating something every week! Whether it’s sketching, painting, writing, sewing or working on design projects around my apartment, I’m trying to make my creative passions more of a priority. Currently on the docket are a DIY headboard, custom roman shades and curtains for all my windows, and a gallery wall of photographs and paintings that I’ve done.
What do you want to be when you grow up? An artist, a writer and a designer (of special events and unique spaces)!
Three things you can’t live without: My bed (it’s a Tempurpedic and basically the best investment I ever made); working out (it’s my therapy); and candles (I light them whenever I’m home and almost always buy new ones any time I go to HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls).
Beach, mountains, or big city, and why? I love them all for different reasons (and moods/seasons), but if I had to choose, I’d say mountains! I’m a HUGE fan of getting outdoors and love that you can go hiking in the summer/fall months and then ski/snowboard (or hang in the lodge, drinking cold weather cocktails) in the winter/spring months. Plus, there’s definitely something to be said for that fresh mountain air!
Favorite guilty pleasure: Pushkin’s gluten-free donuts on a Sunday. GF maple donuts = this celiac’s dream!
Describe the music in your class: A mix of high energy, soulful and heavy beats.
Who has influenced you the most? My mom. She raised four kids on her own, all while working fulltime (and at times, multiple jobs), shuffling us from one sporting event or school function to the next, getting her college degree and being incredibly loving and supportive, to boot. She’s basically a badass and a big reason why I’m the strong, independent woman that I am today.
What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their life? Travel alone! It’s incredibly liberating, adventurous and fun and I highly recommend it.
Who are your top 3 musical artists of all time? P!nk, Garth Brooks and Ottis Redding.
Pick a Brad: Pitt, Cooper or Paisley? Brad Paisley (because I love country).
Pick a Jennifer: Lawrence, Aniston or Lopez? Jennifer Lawrence (because she’s a hilarious and a badass).
Describe your class: Intense, but positive, fun and upbeat!
Why TEAMride? Because beyond a fun and challenging workout, it’s a sense of community. It’s encouragement, unexpected friendships and endless positive energy. It’s the greatest start to my day or an incredible way to close one out. It’s knowing that no matter how I show up, I’ll leave with a big ass grin on my face and happiness in my heart. And it is hands down the best bike dance party in town with the greatest damn team around! TEAMride is so much more than a spin studio and there’s absolutely no place I’d rather be.
How do you want to feel when you’re 100 years old? Happy, content, proud and like I lived my life to its fullest and with no regrets.
What’s the most useful thing you own? My sewing machine.
If you were a character added to a TV show, which show would you join? Sex and the City or Game of Thrones (I don’t watch a ton of TV, so those are my only points of reference these days).
What was the best invention in the last 50 years? The Internet.
What is one thing you ALWAYS have in your fridge/pantry? I always have apples in my fridge and almonds in my pantry (and my purse).
Would you rather time travel to the past or the future? After watching Outlander, I’d rather go back in time!
